On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, on the occasion of the celebration of the
World Logic Day, a series of talks on logic will take place in Hall 1 of
the NEW Building of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science
(HPS) of the NKUA (Zografou Campus). The arrival time is 18:45.
The keynote speaker will be Dr Doukas Kapantais, Director of Research at
the Research Centre for Greek Philosophy of the Academy of Athens, on the
topic "There is no such thing as the Aristotelian syllogistic".
The event is open to anyone interested in logic and its applications.
Following a decision by UNESCO, January 14 has been designated as World
Logic Day, marking the date of Kurt Gödel's death and Alfred Tarski's
birth.
Directions to the Hall: entering from the University Campus gate on Olof
Palme Street, proceed for about 100 meters; the hall is located in the
second building on your left.
